Resistant Kochia Spreading in Soybeans

Corteva Agriscience Market Development Specialist Jason Gibson discussed the spread of resistant kochia in soybean fields. Gibson provided advice for controlling the troublesome weed in Midwest fields this season.

Gibson explained that while kochia has traditionally been prominent in the West, it’s now appearing more often in Eastern areas. Gibson recommended getting ahead of the population by using Sonic® herbicide earlier in the spring before the kochia germinates to control the weed before it ever comes up.

Sonic® is not registered for sale or use in all states. Contact your state pesticide regulatory agency to determine if a product is registered for sale or use in your state. Always read and follow label directions.
