Soybean and Corn Fields

Corteva Agriscience recently announced four powerful crop protection solutions with expected availability for the 2024 growing season. This announcement included Enversa™ soybean herbicide and Kyro™ corn herbicide.

  • Enversa, which is currently pending registration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, is a residual soybean solution that will offer extended residual control of 20 of the toughest grass and broadleaf weeds, including waterhemp and Palmer amaranth, while providing excellent crop safety.
  • Kyro is a postemergence corn solution and the first product on the market to combine acetochlor, topramezone and clopyralid into one premix. Kyro is available in limited supply for the 2023 growing season and will be more widely available for 2024.

“These solutions will pave the way for successes in future growing seasons,” said Aaron Smith, U.S. product manager, soybean herbicides, Corteva Agriscience. “Enversa herbicide is a new, proprietary formulation a decade in the making. Corteva scientists worked tirelessly to develop our encapsulation that is unique in the market — the capsules will roll off the crop surface and drive to the soil surface. This will provide up to four weeks’ residual weed control and excellent crop safety.”

Kyro Herbicide for Your Cornfields

“When it comes to corn weed control, Kyro herbicide will offer farmers three modes of action in one convenient premix. This is an innovative solution to help control glyphosate- and ALS-resistant weeds — and to help prevent future resistance from developing,” said Kelly White, U.S. product manager, corn herbicides, Corteva Agriscience.

Kyro offers several benefits to corn weed control programs, including:

  • Strong postemergence weed control. The strong in-season postemergence activity and residual of Kyro complement existing preemergence corn herbicides, making it a perfect fit into a two-pass program approach. Kyro also provides industry-leading grass control, giving you another powerful solution outside of glyphosate and ALS herbicides in the fight to control resistant grasses.
  • Three modes of action. Kyro is the first corn herbicide to combine the three proven modes of action of acetochlor, clopyralid and topramezone is a single premix for both contact and residual control of more than 65 of the toughest broadleaf and grass weeds.
  • Versatility. Kyro fits a wide variety of different types of corn — glyphosate-tolerant, non-GMO, seed and popcorn. It has flexibility as a stand-alone herbicide and as a tank-mix partner with glyphosate, atrazine and other corn herbicides, so you can create a weed management program that fits your weed control goals. Plus, Kyro can be applied on corn up to 24 inches tall, giving you application timing flexibility.
  • Excellent crop safety. The encapsulated acetochlor in Kyro delivers excellent crop safety and less crop response for healthier corn and higher yield potential.
  • Great handling and tank-mix compatibility. Kyro has tank-mix flexibility with glyphosate, atrazine and other corn herbicides for greater weed control. In addition, Kyro can be tank-mixed with several fungicides, insecticides and micronutrients.
