Our team at Corteva Agriscience is committed to contributing to our rural agricultural communities. Darrin Malone, market development specialist, Midsouth-Delta Region, exemplifies this commitment.
Malone has been actively involved in the Delta Scholarship Golf Classic since its inception. This annual event benefits students majoring in crop, soil and environmental science at the University of Arkansas by raising money for scholarships. So far, the event has awarded more than $400,000 in scholarships to deserving students, and we look forward to its 20th anniversary this July.
“We could not have done this without great local support from the agricultural industry within the state. It’s been a great way for our ag leaders to support local students from east Arkansas and help them achieve their goals in crop science. Many students have come full circle and are actively involved in agriculture in our state, so the legacy continues,” he says. “This event has really become a perennial event and a staple on many people’s calendars. We’re thankful for their continued support.”
