2,4-D is a synthetic auxin that is a class of plant hormones that regulates plant growth. It is absorbed through the leaves and is translocated to the region of cells capable of division and growth in plants. This induces a cascade of unregulated growth and eventual death in susceptible plants.
Application Timing Postemergence | Use Rate* (pint/acre) | Use Directions |
Annual and biennial weeds | 1 - 2 | Apply to annual weeds when small and actively growing |
Perennial weeds | up to 4 | Apply to perennial weeds from bud to bloom stage |
*The lower use rates will be satisfactory for young, succulent growth of sensitive weed species. For less sensitive species and under conditions where control is more difficult, higher use rates in the rate range are recommended.
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
2,4-D, the active ingredient in this product, is a Group 4 herbicide (synthetic auxin).
