Tips and Training

When preparing for a herbicide application, it’s important to take the proper steps to ensure herbicides are handled carefully and used correctly. Doing so maximizes the return on investment of every herbicide application and minimizes the potential for off-target issues.

Safety & Equipment

Professional applicators know the importance of safety procedures and protective equipment when handling herbicides. Although the label is the law, accidents do happen, and each applicator needs to minimize his or her chance for exposure. Following label directions is the first place to start.

Application Technique

Applicators have a number of techniques available to them when applying herbicides. It’s important to first select the treatment method best suited to the vegetation and use site you intend to treat, as well as the herbicide(s) you intend to use.

Communication
